Hey everyone!
I know I’ve been a-wall for all of December. I got caught up between managing my two jobs and spending time with the family over the holidays. Things have FINALLY settled down and I’m excited to jump into the new year.
I’ve done A LOT of thinking. There are a few things I want to focus on this year; like taking the necessary steps to further my career, becoming healthier, and traveling some more. Blogging is something I really love and I love sharing my book reads with you all. However, I’m going to try and take the stress of blogging I had last year away.
Last year I was so focused on the numbers: how many views, likes, and comments. I was so stressed about making sure I blogged every day because that’s what all the articles and blog posts said to do in order to make your blog more successful. And while I’d love to blog every day for you guys, it’s just not feasible for me right now. I’m going to do my best to update as much as possible (especially since I got a TON of new books!), but I’m not going to stress myself out to make the “numbers” happen. Blogging needs to be a positive in my life again. So I’m making the change and I hope you all understand!
With that all said, there are a few reviews coming up soon:

I’ve also joined the 2014 Debut Author Challenge that is hosted by The Story Siren.

I’m really excited to read these novels. I’m still figuring out the January title to read for this challenge, but I’ll let you know as soon as I pick it. I’m hoping that these stories will introduce you all to some awesome new authors on the book scene. Let me know if you’re doing this challenge too so we can swap thoughts, book picks, and progress!
I’m also toying with the idea to possibly start up a vlog to enhance some of my book posting (mostly just to show off any book hauls I’ve gotten and the like). Let me know your thoughts on this and if you’ve ever done the transition yourself. I’d love advice and thoughts!
I have also been thinking hard about introducing a new element to my blog this year. I’d really love to do a “Libraries Around the World” series (or at least around the US). One of the things I LOVE about writing is actually interviewing people. I love listening to other people’s stories and hearing about their lives. What I’d love to do is feature anyone who’s willing to be interviewed about their personal libraries. Whether you own 5 or 500 books, I’d love to talk to you about why you own those books, what your favorite ones are in your collection, if any of them have a personal memory or meaning in your life, and then (one of my favorites) why you organize them the way you do. I find it fascinating how one person’s library is alphabetical and another’s is in color order. I think this says a lot about who we are as a person. Books are a small part of who we are because they shape us. It might be a little shape and it might be a huge shaping, but they do shape us. Please let me know if you are interested in being interviewed at all! I’d love to talk with you 🙂 You can reach me at PopCrunchBoom@gmail.com. I will also be posting a page on my blog about this new series as well! Please let me know your thoughts on this series! Do you love it, hate it, interested in it? Thanks!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! 2014 is a new year and I’m hoping to make it a better one than last year. I hope you all have your resolutions down and that 2014 will be your best year yet!
