Hey Everyone!
I know everyone in the book blogging/vlogging community is all focused on BEA this week and I’d seriously love to be planning with them right now. But unfortunately it’s just not in the cards for me to attend this year. No matter, I’ve got my eyes set on 2015 BEA already 😉 I’m also anxiously awaiting everyone’s recaps so I can live vicariously through everyone else!
But let’s take a step back from that adventure. I want to share with you all this great new series I’m looking forward to reading. I have to admit, I’ve been in a reading slump lately and have found myself reaching for Netflix over a much deserved book to be read. However, this new series has me intrigued and I can’t wait to jump back into the YA land with this.
The novel is I Know Lucy by Melissa Pearl. It’s the first book in Pearl’s Fugitive series. I think it’s pulling me out of my Netflix cloud because of the suspense genre it falls into. Lately I’ve been gorging on Bones and Covert Affairs, so suspense and mystery are where my mind’s at and this novel has that pull to bring me out of my slump.

Here’s a little bit about the novel:
Lucy Tate is on the run. After witnessing the brutal murder of her parents, she’s spent five years in hiding — taking on different personas and faking her way through life. The authorities can’t be trusted, so she remains in the shadows, always one beat ahead of the man who is forever hunting her. That is, until she meets Zach Schultz, a senior at Monte Vista High and the one guy she can’t bear to leave. Suddenly her natural instincts to lie, steal, and run are overshadowed by something else…the desire to stay. It’s her one shot at a normal life.
Curious by nature, Zach is immediately drawn to the new girl at school. How can a person look both confident and vulnerable all in the same moment? Determined to learn more about her, he tries to get close, but is thrown into a world of lies and confusion. The only thing that becomes apparent is that discovering the truth may get him killed.
The novel came out just about a month ago, so it’s still fresh in the YA world. I’m excited to see what you all think of the novel. I’m definitely adding it to a must read soon pile of my TBR and can’t wait to delve into it.
