Happy Love-a-Thon everyone!

I’m so excited to be participating in this wonderful event for a third year! Wow can’t believe how fast time flies 😉 I want to send out a HUGE THANK-YOU to the organizers of this event: Alexa (Alexa Loves Books), Cee (The Novel Hermit), Hazel (Stay Bookish) and Mel (The Daily Prophecy). You are all so wonderful to take the time to organize this 2-day event and send out the schedule and everything. Each year I find such wonderful new blogs and lovely people through this event and am ever inspired by the love of this community 🙂 So thanks!

Starting off the event is the questionnaire! I’ve listed my answers below and hope they shed some insight into who I am “behind the blog” haha :p Enjoy!

questionnaire

      1. What’s your name?
Nicole (but my “pen name” is Nicole Lynn. Lynn is my middle name :D)

      2. Where in the world are you blogging from?
Currently from Boston, MA in the USA 🙂

      3. How did you get into blogging in the first place?
I initially started this blog in college I believe my sophomore or junior year as a lifestyle blog which didn’t last too long as I never really kept up with it and then I found the book blogging community and decided to shift my focus to just books and haven’t looked back since! Blogging has become such a fun outlet for me creatively. I love to write and find writing about another passion (books and reading) to be such a great mix!

      4. How did you come up with your blog name?
It just “popped” into my head and never really left. My good friend made my first “brand” image and I just went with it. I’ve now redone my blog to a different image header but have always been thankful for my friend’s initial talent and artwork 🙂

      5. What genre do you read and review the most on your blog?
I most often review Young Adult or New Adult on the blog. However this year I’ve been reading more non-fiction/memoirs so we shall see 😉

      6. What other types of posts do you do on your blog, apart from reviews?
I try to incorporate some other content such as blog tours, giveaways, book playlists and memes/features. Really, for me, it’s a matter of how much time I have to write and what I’m in the mood to write 🙂

      7. Best blogging experience so far?
I’d have to say whenever an author finds my review and either comments on it or promotes it via social media. I remember one review I posted, the author commented saying she was happy about my interpretation/how I found the characters to be and that it was what she was aiming for! I also just really love gushing about books with other book lovers!

      8. Favorite thing about the blogging community?
Finding a community that gets you and supports you and allows you to gush about books without it being weird haha

      9. Name the 5 books you’re most excited for this 2016!
That’s a hard one! Probably: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, He Will Be My Ruin by K. A. Tucker, Saving Red by Sonya Sones, If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo and Thief of Lies by Brenda Drake.

      10. Name the 5 books you want to read this 2016 that you didn’t get to in previous years!
Don’t hate me for these! I’m very behind on reading lol so here are my five: Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han (so happy this is a book club book for me this year!), The Girl on the Train by Paula HawkinsMosquitoland by David Arnold and Party Girl by Rachel Hollis (plus many, many more!!).

      11. What’s an underrated book or series that you think everyone should read?
Maybe not so much underrated as maybe not read so much anymore: I read the Gemma Doyle series/trilogy by Libba Bray in high school, but I believe they’re more than 10 years old or so now. I really loved these books and fell in love with Libba Bray as a writer. I dearly hope these books are still being circulated/discovered/read 🙂

      12. Which book boy or girl would be your book BFF?
Ok, so um can Amy Poehler be my book BFF?! I know she’s like a real person and all, but I just finished her book/memoir Yes Please! and now I love her so much more haha

      13. Which book boy or girl would be your book boyfriend/girlfriend?
I haven’t really read any YA this year surprisingly. I’m in the middle of Truthwitch now but don’t really have my eyes on Merik (although he has some great dance moves it seems lol). A book I kept going back to last year was Very Bad Things by Ilsa Madden-Mills (an NA read) and I really love both Leo Tate and his brother Sebastian (also I really love those two names for some reason haha). Both of these guys are great in this book for different reasons and could see myself falling for both of them IRL. So yup imma go with these two 😉

      14. Who would you recruit for your apocalypse squad (5 characters max)
Hmm…this is hard! Definitely Safiya and Iseult (Truthwitch). Also Celaena (Throne of Glassand then probably Cat and Bones (Halfway to the Gravebecause 1) they’re both badass and 2) Bones would lend humor to the situation I think haha.

      15. Apart from reading, what are your other hobbies or interests?
I just started getting into Project Life scrapbooking and I’m loving it! I’m still finishing up 2015 before moving on to 2016 but I’ve been taking more pictures to make 2016 even better! I’m also into yoga, netflix, music and hanging out with my cat Lady. I do enjoy the outdoors so I’ve been trying to be outside more 🙂

      16. Apart from book shopping, what else do you like shopping for?
Music, bookish related things, blankets/pillows, clothes and shoes. Also I think my favorite thing to shop for is gifts for other people. I love trying to find the best gift for the person and then watching them get excited when they open the gift (because I’m corny like that lol).

      17. At a party, the DJ suddenly changes the song – and it’s your song. What song would be playing?
Ugh I can’t pick one! hmm for dancing around I’ve really liked this song: Freedom by Pitbull, for relaxing/walking to class this playlist on 8tracks.com. For favorite songs I love to dance to: Sail by Awolnation and Shut Up and Dance With Me by Walk the Moon. Also check out these guys cause I love them and they’re not that widely known yet (i think lol): Green or Blue and Little Eye.  But I’m always trying to find new music and love getting recs so let me know any songs to check out in the comments below!!

      18. Pick out either a book you want turned into a film/TV show, or a film/TV show you want turned into a book.
Hmm, well I actually just finished watching Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries on Netflix and since this show was based on books and they haven’t technically canceled the show can I wish for a season 4? I also really want to read these books 🙂

      19. What would your dream library look like?
*Cue Beauty & The Best scene* haha but no really I’d just like enough shelves/bookcases to display all the books I own. I’m studying in graduate school to become a librarian so I’ll be able to bask in the libraries I end up working in so mine can be simple 🙂

      20. Author you want to meet and sit down to tea with?
I actually follow Rachel Harris on Instagram and think she’d be so fun to hang out with. I’m hoping to read her books this year so I’d like actually have something to discuss with her lol.

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my answers to this fun questionnaire! I can’t wait to read everyone’s responses and really quick off Love-a-Thon! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Reading!

Nicole! I like that all types of blogs—lifestyle—just never sticks. We always come to book blogging. 😉 I love being able to engage authors in a discussion. It’s just so accessible.

I really need to read Truthwitch! I WANT TO READ ABOUT THAT FRIENDSHIP I KEEP HEARING ABOUT.

Thanks so much! And gah so jealous! I follow Rachel on Instagram and she just seems like such a sweet and awesome person! I met her briefly at ApollyCon last year but haven’t had a chance to read her books yet 😬 so I’m hoping to do so this year! Also hoping to read McGarry’s books as well! Thanks again for stopping by!

Oh yesss… #8, that is exactly what I think is so amazing. I know that 98% of the people I know think I’m so bizarre for loving books as much as I do – this community just GETS IT!

Dang it – what was I thinking! The Cursed Child is out this year and I didn’t even put it on the list bahaha.

The Girl on the Train is just SO GOOD. I hope you love it! I could not put it down at all, it was just a great read.

Haha, love your apocalypse squad! Celaena and Iseult are just so badass and amazing!

    Happy Love a thon!!!! <3

Yes to The Cursed Child! I learned yesterday that JKR is also releasing an expanded hardcover version of Fantastic Beasts next year, so yay for that too! I wish my friend, Elizabeth, from So Long… & Thanks For All the Fish was still blogging regularly because she is a HUGE Libba Bray fan. She convinced me to read Going Bovine and I adored it. She thinks I will like Beauty Queens too. I think both of you would have enjoyed each other’s blogs. Thanks for stopping by my blog. 🙂

I haven’t read Going Bovine yet (eek I know!) but I have read Beauty Queens and it’s hysterical! Libba Bray does such a great job with it and if you can listen to the audiobook it’s even better haha Libba did all the voices herself! Thanks for stopping by!

I am so excited for the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child too! I still need to read Nowhere But Here as well! I adore Katie McGarry and her Pushing the Limits series is one of my favs. I have heard really good things about the Gemma Doyle trilogy. It gets raved about a lot on booklr!
I love shopping for pillows and clothes too. Man I have so many weaknesses HAH. It is the best feeling when someone opens a present and their lights up. This happened 2 days ago. I got a present for a work friend and when she opened her present she was happy – she took it out right there and started taking photos IT WARMS MY HEART.
Hi5 Beauty and the Beast! The Beast’s library is goals.
*Hums* oh don’t you dare look back, you keep your eyes on me… shut up and dance with me…

When I first read your blog name, I totally thought of the ‘Snap, Crackle, Pop!’ from Rice Krispies haha. I wish you luck on survival with your apocalypse team! I feel like no matter what, Safi/Iseult would put each other as priority in staying alive, and if I had both on my team, I’d end up dying as a result of being that random member LOL.

    Cheers,
