Hello lovelies!
Wow I can’t believe February is over? Two months down in the new year and I feel like this year keeps flying! I was so excited to participate in Book Clubs and Love-A-Thon this month! This time around I made a video for my recent hauls! The vid also includes my January haul 😉 I bought soooo many books these past two months that I thought a video would be best to show them all off! Let me know if you’d like to see more of these types of videos or just the standard photo and list 😉 Also let me know what books you’ve picked up this past month!!
This month I was able to attend two book club meetings! I met up with some awesome book lovers in my city to discuss Tiger Lily (for my YA book club) and The Charm School by Susan Wiggs (for my Romance book club). I enjoyed every minute of both meet ups and cannot wait to do it again next month! It is so much fun being able to discuss the book you read with a bunch of other people who’ve read it too, ugh I’m just in book lover heaven after discovering the magic of book clubs! 🙂
Additionally, while not technically a bookish event, I visited another nearby library for a class assignment. This time around I was able to explore Newton Free Library. This library has a wonderful ESL & Literacy program and I was fortunate enough to interview the program director for my class project. I’m so thankful to her and the Newton Free Library for allowing us to visit and talk with her and learn more about creating an awesome ESL & Literacy program!
Look they even have a massive foreign language section for children!!
In other bookish news, ApollyCon 2016 took place this past weekend! How fun!! I so wish I could have gone, but being busy in grad school kept me from flying down to Savannah for all the bookish fun! I so wanted to meet all the wonderful authors and explore that beautiful city, but I’ll just have to live vicariously through all you attendees! So make sure you let me know if you were there and what your favorite things were and if you have any photos/blog posts to share 🙂
Overall, I’m still dealing with the cold weather (and strangely warm days) of Boston while also trying to survive grad school and get all my assignments done! (*Yikes*) I’ve been reading more, but blogging less and I really need to fix this stat! I celebrated my 25th birthday by buying books, having lunch with a great friend and going to class haha. Also this month, I hosted my first giveaway in over a year (I believe) on my Instagram account. The winner will be announced today 🙂 While I didn’t blog reviews as much as I wanted to, I’m still happy with my blogging and reading for the month. I obviously didn’t accomplish my ambitious TBR, but I fell in love with some books and have begun enjoying reading again which I think I somehow lost last year. So all in all I had a pretty great February and I’m happy!
Let me know how your February has gone! If you have any wrap-up posts, please leave them below! I love seeing what everyone else has done each month! Also SHOUT-OUT to all my lovely new friends/bloggers/booklovers that I met through #LoveAThon! I’m going to do my best to catch up with all of you sometime this week 🙂
Happy Reading!

29 February 2016 at 6:39 pmThe Mara Dyer books are wonderful! Well, at least the first two are. There was such a large span between the second and third books that I wanted to re-read one and two because there are a lot of plot details in this story, but I have not had the time for re-reads. I am hoping to do the re-read this summer. I read Wolf Wilder and she did not do much research on wolves and Russia. I feel that it is really important to have factual representation in books. A lot of people who read my critical review said that was because it was a Fantasy, but it isn’t. I don’t know where they got that idea; it is MG Historical Fiction. Plus the girl is about 10 or 11 and she was flirting with a boy just minutes after a family tragedy. That was very disappointing to me. This was my first experience with her writing, so it had turned me off. Everyone has me convinced to read I’ll Give You The Sun. I don’t read much Contemporary, but they say I will love it. Happy belated birthday! Your haul was enormous. I loved participating in the Love-A-Thon, too. I met so many lovely new-to-me bloggers, like you. Have a wonderful March, Nicole. 🙂

1 March 2016 at 2:08 pmI’m glad the Mara Dyer books were good I’m excited to read those! And oh no! I was looking forward to Wolf Wilder because I love her Cartwheeling in Thunderstorms book but I completely agree to have factual representation in books so it disappoints me that it was lacking this book. I also picked up I’ll Give You the Sun on everyone’s suggestions so helpfully it’s as good as the hype! And yes I don’t normally have that many books a month but I splurged for my birthday and also some were from January..so it was a really love video haha.
I hope you have a wonderful March as well and I’ll be keeping up with your blog 🙂

29 February 2016 at 9:06 amFebruary 2016 is in the books! I’m glad it’s flying, my husband and I will be house shopping in April and I can’t wait!!
Oh my goodness, that mug is adorable! Do you remember where you got it? How was TIGER LILY? One of my goals of 2016 is to read all the unread books on my bookshelf and TIGER LILY is one of them. I hope to get to it soon.
Yea, I live right outside of Boston and the cold has been terrible this month. The weather in general. Somedays it’ll be high 50’s, the next low 30’s. I bet a lot of people are suffering from colds this month. Have a great March!

1 March 2016 at 2:00 pmHey!! Ooooo house shopping…good luck! One of my best friends just bought a house…it’s definitely exciting but stressful/nerve racking…so I’m sending along good house buying vibes 😊😊 I got the mug from Francesca’s and I enjoyed Tiger Lily but maybe not as much as I wanted to if that makes sense? Definitely a unique and interesting narration/POV style though that’s worth the read 🙂
