Hello lovelies!
So, I’m excited to say that I’m signing up for the Pokémon Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon read-a-thon happening this August 14 through September 4! The read-a-thon is hosted by Aentee @ ReadAtMidnight. If you want to sign up as well, check out her sign-up post here.
I’m hoping this readathon challenge will help me tackle a bit of my TBR. I’m trying my best to focus on reading books I own versus buying more books or borrowing from the library. So all these books will be books I currently own. 🙂
But First, Pokémon!
My Chosen Pokémon
Eevee is just too adorable! I couldn’t not pick her as my Pokémon of choice 🙂 I’m just going to have to figure out which evolution I’m going to want to go with when the time comes. That’s going to be the real hard decision haha.
TBR Choices + Gym Challenges
For this gym challenge I’m going to read Falling Kingdoms by
Morgan Rhodes. I bought this book earlier this year after hearing that this series was a great fantasy series. So I’m hoping to dig into this one and start off another great series read 🙂
Summary on GoodReads | 412 pages | potential +41 CP
A book that might me cry will probably be It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. I have to be honest and say that I haven’t read any of Colleen Hoover’s books yet (I know! I know! Reader fail haha). I do however own this gem as well as her book Confess. So this might be the perfect time to delve into Hoover’s writing and become the fan I know I will be of her books 🙂
Summary on GoodReads | 362 pages | potential +36 CP
There were a few options for this one, but I’m planning on reading The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. Again, book confession time: I haven’t read anything by Matson yet either. YA contemporary was never really my genre of choice. I tend to drift towards Fantasy/Paranormal/SciFi books, so I’m working on catching up in the contemporary area. So fingers crossed I’ll enjoy this one 🙂
Summary on GoodReads | 528 pages | potential +52 CP
So for this challenge I actually have two books in mind. I’m not sure which one I’ll get to or if I’ll just read both and count the one with the most CP haha. But I’m hoping to read Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon and Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. I’ve had an ARC of Everything, Everything sitting on my shelf since BEA last year (*cringes at that*), but for some reason I never picked it up. So I’m planning on rectifying that before her new release hits shelves.
For Homegoing, I saw it around on the Bookstagram community & heard such great things about it that when I saw it in the bookstore last week I picked it up. Just reading the description of the book, I know that it’s going to be a heavy one so I’m hoping to read it along with Everything, Everything to give my emotions some rest. But we’ll see. I might just read it straight through and then recover by reading Everything, Everything haha.
Yoon: Summary on GoodReads | 310 pages | potential +31 CP
Gyashi: Summary on GoodReads | 305 pages | potential +30 CP
For this badge, I thought I’d choose FanGirl and finally get around to reading it and reading one of Rainbow Rowell’s books. I’m not sure how epic of a romance this story is but I know so many people love this story and I finally want to sit down and read it! I’m sure my love for it will count as an epic romance, right?
Summary on GoodReads | 455 pages | potential +45 CP
I might be cheating on this one, but I’m hoping to read The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. I haven’t read this MG series yet and I desperately want to! So I’m hoping the mythology part of this book counts as Fantasy/Supernatural 🙂
Summary on GoodReads | 377 pages | potential +37 CP
For this one I chose Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld. This modern retelling of Pride & Prejudice is right up my ally since I love Pride & Prejudice. I enjoy reading modern adaptations and I’ve seen this one floating around the book community. I can’t wait to see how this adaptation will play out and I’m interested to see how I’ll like it compared to other adaptations I’ve read 🙂
Summary on GoodReads | 492 pages | potential +49 CP
I’m not the biggest fan of dystopian, but I’ve chosen to read Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I’m a fan of Oliver’s writing so I’m interested to see how this trilogy plays out.
Summary on GoodReads | 441 pages | potential +44 CP
So there’s my TBR for the upcoming read-a-thon! I pulled most of the page numbers from what GoodReads listed, so there might be some changes come actual reading time. I’m so excited to read all these though and can’t wait to see my Eevee gain more CPs & evolve!
Let me know if you’ve read any of these, what you’re planning on reading, and what Pokémon you picked! I cannot wait to join along with everyone in this #ReadThemAllThon!
Happy Battling!
Happy Reading!
