Hello lovelies!
Getting back into the swing of things! Check out below for what I can’t wait to get my hands on next!
*Note that the synopsis might be triggering for some*
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, where you can highlight upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating!
What I’m waiting on:
Teach Me to Forget by Erica M. Chapman
Synopsis (via GoodReads):Ellery’s bought the gun, made arrangements for her funeral, and even picked the day. A Wednesday. Everything has fallen into place.
Now all she has to do is die.
When her plans go awry and the gun she was going to kill herself with breaks, she does the one thing she has control over–return it and get a new one. After tormenting the crusty customer service associate by trying to return the gun with the wrong receipt, Ellery gets caught by the security guard who also happens to be someone she knows–the annoyingly perfect Colter Sawyer from her English class.
Colter quickly uncovers what she’s hiding and is determined to change her mind. After confessing a closely held secret of his own, he promises not to tell hers. Ellery tries to fight her attraction to him as the shadows of her past cling tight around her, but when she’s faced with another tragedy, she must decide whether her love for one boy is more important than a lifetime of pain.
Release Date: December 2, 2016
Pages: 288
Publisher: Merit Press
Price: $17.99 (hardcover)
Place to buy: Amazon, B&N, Book Depository, GoodReads, IndieBound
So this book definitely has some dark themes and heavy emotions running through it. Still, I’m interested to see how this one will play out and how Chapman handles suicidal thoughts as a mental health topic. I’m also interested in seeing how this one might comepare to All The Bright Places which I loved despite the problems some had with the storyline in terms of its pretrayal of mental health. We shall see 🙂
What are you waiting on this week? Do you have Teach Me To Forget added to your TBR? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear from you!
Happy Reading!
