So time to get personal.
I have recently been on an unplanned hiatus from the blog. These past few months have been filled with a lot of transition for me and I haven’t had time to dedicate to this blog. Things are almost starting to settle down, but I’m probably still going to be on a semi-hiatus until March.
There are two main things that have been effecting my dedication to PopCrunchBoom Books. The first one has to do with my family. My grandmother is currently suffering from Alzheimer’s disease & when I’m not working I’m over at her house to help my mom out while she is working. Usually I have time when my grandmother is sleeping to get things done. However, instead of turning towards the blog, I’ve been working on catching up/staying current with my two online classes. Which leads me to my next reason for the hiatus.
I’ve been in a bit of a rut emotionally.
I tend to go into waves of being totally passionate about what I’m doing and finding the time no matter what to work on my passion projects to going into a mood where I don’t want to really do anything but escape. I’ve recently been doing a lot of reflecting and I think a lot my inclinations to withdrawal have to do with a lack of balance and my instinct to not work harder. While I can be personally pretty hard on myself, I also think I don’t push myself and I easily settle into a lull of “whatever” instead of working harder on something I know I love. On top of that I seem to freeze up a bit when my life isn’t as balanced as I want it to be instead of working to regain the balance and move on.
So why am I telling you all this? Well I guess because I just want you all to know that I do think about this blog, this community and you all a lot and that I don’t want you all to think I’ve disappeared. I don’t want to disappoint you all just as much as I don’t want to disappoint myself.
Blogging for some reason has always been a struggle for me. I forget that while I love blogging, if it’s something I want to do more of and something I want to really make the success that I wish it to be, then I need to put in the work. I need to reach for my computer to write up a post instead of binge watching Netflix for another night that week. I can still have my Netflix nights, but I also need to have my blogging night(s). It’s all about finding the balance and that the initial work will lead to much more happiness in the long run.
So my mission for this year is balance. Finding the right balance for my life and my happiness.
With that in mind, I’ll be going in and out of the blog until my mom retires in March. Once she retires, I’m hoping to take a small step back from some of my current family task or rework some of those tasks and then hopefully rededicate a lot more passion (and energy) to my passion projects which include this blog, my youtube, my Instagram, a new blog in the works, and some project life scrapbooking projects.
If you’ve read through all this, thank so much! I appreciate it more than you know!

I’ve never been a big name in the blogging biz because like you, I tend to go in and out of it as I try to balance my blogging with work, spending time with family/friends, and reading! What am I meant to put up on the blog if I’m not reading? Haha! Don’t feel guilty, and take as much time as you need. I’m just realising now that a lot of people write 4-5 blog posts in a week, and I’m wondering how everyone does that! I don’t know if it’s the age difference (I notice lots are uni students), but don’t feel pressured to match everyone. Alzheimers is a very time-consuming and heartbreaking disease. Thoughts to you and your family.

Thank you Gemma for your thoughtful comment! I do tend to feel guilty when I’m not keeping up with a lot of other bloggers, but I’m starting to realize that I’m not going to be as consistent as some others because of life happenings and that that’s okay. I’m glad I’m not the only one who goes in and out of blogging! I really don’t know how people do the 4-5 blog posts a week lol. When I do post a lot it’s because I write multiple posts in one day and then pre-schedule them, but even that is hard and time consuming lol. But I really do appreciate your kind words and your thoughts!
Thank you so much for stopping by to comment!
