Month in Review: February 2017

Morning Loves,

I can’t believe that February is already over! Where is 2017 going?! I feel like this year has already seen so much and it’s only been two months! Well, February was pretty busy for me, but not that busy blog wise. I’m hoping that I can rededicate some time to the blog this coming month. I have a few reviews I’d like to share & some other fun posts brainstormed out 🙂

Me holding up a copy of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star and smilingUrban Outlaws by Peter Jay Black | Review to Come | 3.5 Stars

Love Is Love: A Comic book anthology edited by Marc Andreyko

Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star by Heather Lynn Rigaud | I read this to try & get out of my book slump. Fluffy romances always seem to jump start my reading.

Windwitch by Susan Dennard | I’m trying to read this book in stages so I can do some discussion posts on here. I started the first 10 chapters and I’m already pulled in!

Why I’ve Been MIA & The Sunday Post (3) | Quick review of why I’ve been absent & some great reads from other blogs and websites
Foxheart by Claire Legrand Book Review | An enjoyable MG Fantasy | 4.5 stars
Birthday Giveaway | A giveaway post for celebrating my birthday!

I’m trying really hard to buy less & read more of what I already own. With that said, there are a few books I definitely wanted to pick up (& a few more still on my list to get! I’m trying to limit my purchases each month 😉 ). I also ended up picking up a lot more than I should have at a thrift store. I found some alternate covers of the Vampire Academy Books (not the awful new covers, but another printing/edition covers) & I also grabbed some of her Georgia Kincaid/Succubus series that were at the thrift shop as well. So that was super exciting! Of course that only added to my shamefully large amount of books I own that I haven’t read yet. I think it’s going to take 2 or 3 years to read all the books I own that I haven’t read yet—it’s that bad!! Idk how it happened, but I accumulated so many books and I, for some reason, haven’t read them. But that’s going to change! I promise 🙂 ANYWAY, the three books that I did pick up this month that were new were:

February was pretty uneventful for me book event wise or real event wise as well. I spent the month still adjusting to my new job and jumping into my two online grad classes. I did; however, spend time moving my blog over to self-hosted! That was super exciting! I really enjoy the theme that I purchased for the website & hope that you all like it too! I’m working on updating all my past posts since almost none of my ‘featured images’ transferred over to this site & almost none of my images saved in WordPress’ ‘Media’ section transferred over either. So I’m uploading a lot when I can. I am super happy though with the amount of participation that took place with my giveaway! Hopefully I’ll have some more exciting life/book events to showcase next month for you all 🙂

In news outside of this blog, I also started my lifestyle blog: Just Add More. You can check it out here if you’d like. I have it linking to this blog for my ‘book’ category. I’m really excited to begin another blogging journey. I love to blog and while I love this blog, I also wanted to branch out and write about some life things and some fashion-y things that wouldn’t really go with the focus of this blog: books. So I took the leap to start up another blog! I can’t wait to have some more down time after classes end so that I can dedicate a lot of time to both this blog & my new one. I’m excited to see where I’ll be blogging wise, both on here & on my new blog, this time next year!

How was your February?  I hope you had a good month! Let me know about it below! If you have any wrap-up posts, please leave them below! I love seeing what everyone else has done each month!

Happy Reading!
