That Time I Bought Some Books in Boston!

We all know that book-buying can be addictive for book lovers. This fact is true of me. While I’ve been trying to do my best to stick to a list or curb my buying, I’ve been struggling….FOR REAL!

I don’t know what it is about buying books, but for some reason I just feel like I need to have ALL THE BOOKS haha. But seriously, I have been getting better. I wrote up a list at the beginning of the year of books that I wanted to buy that year and no more. And up to now I’ve only added two books to it! (success!!).

But….I’ve also bought outside of that list like three or four times now which kind of makes the list a bit useless. Still, I’m going to recommit to that list now and try my best not to purchase too much outside of it!

Now that we’ve cleared all that up (ha!) let’s get to the real reason you’re all here reading this: THE BOOK HAUL!

So while I was up in Boston graduating, I stepped into two of my favorite bookstores up there. (I sadly didn’t have time to hit the other three I used to love frequenting). While at the Brookline Booksmith, I picked up three books and my mom picked up two more as graduation presents for me!

The Thirst (Harry Hole #11) | Jo Nesbo | Signed copy!!!

Caraval | Stephanie Garber | This one was on my list 🙂

A Good Idea | Cristina Moracho | This sounded like a great thriller!

The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu: And Their Race to Save the World’s Most Precious Manuscripts | Joshua Hammer

Before I left Boston, I had to stop by the bookstore that I worked out for 9 months, The Children’s Bookshop. While catching up with old co-workers, I picked up three books 🙂

The Girl Who Drank the Moon | Kelly Barnhill | This one was also on my list 😉

City of Savages | Lee Kelly | Another signed copy!! & recommended to me by my friend Rachel 🙂

They All Saw a Cat | Brendan Wenzel | Couldn’t walk away without getting a picture book! (Not pictured)

So there you have it, my most recent purchases! I’ve also bought a few books via library sales and also got my first two orders of Book of the Month Club. I’m hoping I’ll be able to do a video showcasing all the new books or at least via some instagram shots! So stay tuned 🙂

In the meantime, let me know what you’ve recently picked up! Also, let me know if you’ve read any of the above ^^ as I’d love to hear your thoughts on these books!

Happy Reading!

There is just something about visiting book shops that make me break budgets, lists and my purse. Lol. My weakness this year has been audios. I am working my way through back wishlists.

Yes! I so agree lol and I haven’t even delved into audios yet haha I’d probably get lost down the rabbit hole with them as well haha. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
