QOTD: What series do you love?

Anne Bishop’s The Others series is seriously one of my all time favorites and I’ve only read the first three books so far! I just love the world she created and all the characters who live in it. I’m instantly transported as soon as I begin each story and I feel like I’ve returned to a place I love with each new book in the series. Also, this is one of the first fantasy/paranormal series I’ve read and loved that doesn’t really have a romance main storyline. So anyway, I’d definitely recommend the series if you haven’t checked it out yet!

A recent addition to my shelves this past month. I’m hoping it will be a nice pairing of my love of romance and my resurgence back into reading YA again. The past couple of years I’ve been reading basically just romance because it was the only thing I could escape into. I’m happy to say that while I’ve been still reading mainly romance, I’ve also been picking up YA and Middle Grade again and enjoying them like I used to.

Does your library have a romance section?

I’ve noticed some libraries pull out the paperback romances and have a full on romance section and some just interfile them in regular fiction. I for one love when a library pulls out genres like romance or mystery and I’m super lucky that my library does this. Let me know your thoughts on this below 👇🏻

Finished book 1 of the Shadow & Bone trilogy this weekend.

I’ve owned these books since they came out & have no idea why I haven’t read them before. I think maybe I hate reading books when they’re popular 🤷🏻‍♀️. Either way, I ended up really enjoying this one! I loved the world building! Not sure if I’m totally in love with the characters or plot line just yet, but I’m very interested in seeing what happens next in this trilogy. I’m hoping to finish up the trilogy & the six of crows books before binging the show on Netflix.

Kitty + Messy Shelves + an update on my life below 👇🏻

Dealing with a lot of change recently: loss of loved one & getting a new job. So I haven’t been reading or motivated to post. But I’m slowly getting back into things.
•
This little guy here is a new edition to my family. He and his sister were the cats of my family member who passed. We now have 5 cats wandering our house (though this guy & his sister are in one room as we make the transition to the whole house with the other kitties). The boy is adjusting pretty well, but the girl not as well. Either way they’re super sweet cats and I’m so fortunate we were able to take them & care for them. So even in grief there are moments of joy.

I hope the rest of 2020 fairs well for you all and that you find a slimmer of joy in your days, especially your hard days.
